We have to-day received a cable from our Hong Kong House stating that they have received permission to ship only 345 tons instead of 470 tons for which permits have been received in this
Office.
Apparently the balance of 125 Tons for which permits have not been received are the last which have been granted as follows:-

According to a letter just received from our Hong Kong friends
it appears that after the Governor of Hong Kong receives notifica-
tion of the permits from London some considerable time usually
⚫lapses before permission is given by the Governor to our Hong
Kong
